Blake Sheehan

Blake is a partner, portfolio manager and serves as co-head of Baltimore private client at Brown Advisory. In her role as PM, Blake is focused on managing assets for private clients, family offices, endowments, and foundations. In this role, she works on strategic investment and asset allocation solutions for clients and is responsible for implementing these strategies into each portfolio.

Matthew Gray

Matt is a portfolio manager in the Washington, D.C. office and is responsible for managing balanced portfolios on behalf of nonprofit and private clients. Previously at Brown Advisory, Matt was a portfolio analyst and member of the firm’s Investment Solutions Group, which performs manager research and makes asset allocation recommendations. Prior to joining Brown Advisory in 2012, Matt was an analyst at Bessemer Trust, where he provided comprehensive analytics for client portfolios.

Drew Courtney

Drew is a partner and portfolio manager at Brown Advisory responsible for investing portfolios on behalf of individuals, families, endowments and foundations. Prior to joining the firm, Drew worked at Bank of America Merrill Lynch in the Global Wealth and Investment Management division.

Kathryn L. McManus

Kathryn is a partner and serves as a private client relationship advisor in the Account Administration group. She has over 14 years of industry experience and is currently responsible for servicing multiple relationships including institutional and high net worth clients. Prior to joining Brown Advisory in July 2011, Kathryn was a vice president in the Asset Management group of FBR Capital Markets Corporation where her primary responsibilities included servicing institutional and high net worth clients through their proprietary hedge, private equity and venture capital funds.

Anne Bartlett

Anne serves as chief of staff to the CEO and as a private client relationship advisor. She has over 25 years of industry experience and was one of the firm's first few colleagues. She is responsible for several family office and foundation-focused relationships as well as high-net-worth individuals and families. Previously, Anne was with Alex. Brown, where she worked in its retail division and also on its corporate bond trading desk.

Derrick Leak

Derrick is a private client relationship advisor at Brown Advisory who leads a team of advisors, associates and analysts. He is responsible for managing relationships with high net worth individuals and families and also handling trust administration matters. Derrick has over 20 years of experience in the financial services industry. Prior to joining Brown Advisory, he was a senior advisor at Convergent Wealth Advisors, a senior director in the Financial Advisory Group of a sports agency and more recently a senior regulatory analyst at FINRA.

Jackie Kipke

Jackie is a private client relationship advisor at Brown Advisory and manages a team of administrators and multiple relationships for high net worth clients. Prior to joining Brown Advisory in 2003, she was an office manager with Alex. Brown's venture capital division. She began her career with Alex. Brown in 1985 as a sales assistant working with several partners until 1992.

Richard Thomason

Richard is a partner who is responsible for regulatory compliance for Brown Advisory’s international business. He joined Brown Advisory in March 2015 and has been working in financial regulation for over 20 years.

Prior to joining the firm, Richard was a director in the legal and compliance function at BlackRock, head of compliance for MGPA (prior to its acquisition by BlackRock), compliance officer at the Ingenious Group, senior manager at Deloitte and a regulator at the Financial Services Authority. 

Joseph Ferlise

Joe is a partner and strategic advisor at Brown Advisory. He provides estate, succession and fiduciary planning services to private clients, families and nonprofits. Prior to joining the firm, he was a senior vice president for Hawthorn, PNC Family Wealth where he worked with multigenerational families for more than 15 years.
