Brown Advisory Hires Nicholas Haffenreffer as Portfolio Manager in its Washington D.C. Office 

 

WASHINGTON, D.C. – Brown Advisory, a private and independent investment management and strategic advisory firm, is pleased to announce that Nicholas Haffenreffer has joined the firm as a partner and portfolio manager in its Washington, D.C. office. With over 30 years of investment management experience, Nicholas brings a wealth of expertise in equity research, portfolio management and team leadership.

Prior to joining Brown Advisory, Nicholas was a principal and portfolio manager at Brown Brothers Harriman & Co., where he led a team managing the firm’s flagship U.S. Large Cap Equity Fund. He also designed and launched their Dividend Growth strategy.

Previously, Nicholas served as chief investment officer, principal and portfolio manager at Torray Investment Partners, overseeing the management of Large Growth and Small and Mid-Cap Growth strategies. He was also the founding president of Resolute Capital Management, where he launched the Resolute Concentrated Large Growth Fund, later adopted by Transamerica.

Nicholas holds a B.A. in modern literature and society from Brown University. In addition to his professional and educational achievements, he is actively involved in the community. He chairs the investment committee of the Episcopal Diocese of Washington and is a director and chair of the Finance Committee of the House of Mercy, a nonprofit supporting early childhood educational programs in Washington. He previously served as finance committee chair and treasurer of SeaWeb, an international nonprofit dedicated to ocean conservation.
