Herta von Stiegel

Herta is a board member of the Brown Advisory Sustainable Investing Advisory Board. She is the Founder and Chair of Ariya Capital Group Limited, a regulated financial services firm and project developer focusing on clean energy and enabling infrastructure investments in Africa. Herta serves as a member of the Supervisory Board and audit and nominations committees and as chair of the remuneration committee of LeasePlan Corporation N.V. In January 2019 she was appointed to the board of the London Metal Exchange, the world centre for industrial metal trading, where she chairs the Technology & Operational Resilience Committee and serves on the audit and risk and enforcement committees. She is Chair of the board of Britam Asset Managers (Kenya) Limited, where she also chairs the remuneration & nominations committee. A US trained lawyer and former investment banker, she has over 25 years’ experience in international finance with a consistent track record of building profitable highly regulated structured finance businesses. She was Managing Director at AIG Financial Products and has held senior positions at Citibank and JP Morgan in London and New York. In addition to her major corporate boards, Herta holds non-executive board appointments in the not-for-profit sector including: chair of the Kenya Chapter of Women Corporate Directors and a member of the Advisory Board of C200. She is the Founder and former chair of The Prince’s Trust Women’s Leadership Group, the UK’s leading youth charity. Herta has authored the book “The Mountain Within – Leadership Lessons and Inspiration for your Climb to the Top”.
