With the launch of our B|Secure biometrics mobile application, our goal is to make it more convenient for our clients to interact with Brown Advisory while still maintaining a high level of security.

Brown Advisory’s B|Secure application allows clients to approve transfers in seconds and manage their requests. B|Secure offers three secure options to approve a transaction by voice, face or fingerprint. How to Begin Using B|Secure

  1. If you are interested in using B|Secure to approve transactions, please reach out to your client team. Your client team will walk you through the registration process, including downloading the app.
  2. Your client team will send you a registration email with instructions to securely link your identity and store your biometrics.
  3. Once configuration is complete, you can begin using B|Secure as an additional secure option to approve transactions.

FAQ

What are biometrics?

Biometrics are the use of certain physical characteristics to confirm that a client is who they claim to be. For this app, we are using one or a combination of the following biometrics: fingerprint, voice, or facial image. We are also connecting biometrics to a client’s specific mobile device for additional security.

Why use biometrics?

We are rolling out biometrics to make it more convenient for our clients to interact with Brown Advisory while still maintaining a high level of security.

Do I need to use biometrics?

No. If you prefer, you can continue to interact with us in the same secure manner that you are accustomed to using.

If I use biometrics, do I need to use it all the time?

No. The biometrics app is an additional option for you to approve cash flow requests. You are able to use it on certain transactions but may continue to interact with your client service team member using the alternative secure methods that you are accustomed to using.

Is biometrics more secure than what I am currently using?

The use of biometrics should be considered equivalent in security to the alternative approval methods.

How does Brown Advisory secure my biometrics?

Brown Advisory stores biometrics with the same high level of security that is used to store all of our client’s information.

Important Information

By tapping “Accept” in the application, you authorize Brown Advisory to store your picture and a recording of your voice. We will use this information only to evaluate requests to move funds in connection with your Brown Advisory accounts.

If this device has a fingerprint reader and you authorize this application to use fingerprints, any fingerprints registered with this device can be used to interact with this application. This means that anyone with a fingerprint registered with this device may be able to open this application, view your activity and authorize certain transactions. Please confirm that only fingerprints of people you have authorized to do all of these things are registered with this device. This application only confirms whether a fingerprint is registered with the device: Fingerprint data stay on this device only, subject to any policies of this device’s manufacturer or operating system provider.

This application may not be available to citizens or residents of certain countries.
